Privacy Policy
The short version
- There are no accounts, no ads and no tracking cookies.
- To run the leaderboard and live races, we store a random pilot ID, the pilot name you choose and your best score.
- Race positions and chat messages are passed between players live and are not saved.
- We count visits with a cookie-free analytics service.
- Email us to have your pilot name and score removed.
1. Who we are
Full Self-Flying is an unofficial, fan-made parody game published at teslaflyingcar.games ("we", "us"). It is not affiliated with Tesla, Inc. or any other company. Questions about this policy go to support@teslaflyingcar.games.
2. What we collect and why
Stored on your device
The game saves the following in your browser's local storage so it works the next time you visit. It stays on your device, and clearing your browser data removes it.
- A random pilot ID and a secret pilot key, which prove that a leaderboard entry is yours.
- The pilot name you type, if any.
- Your best score, your last five runs, the cities you've unlocked, and settings such as sound, music, units and panel layout.
Stored on our servers
| Data | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Random pilot ID, and a one-way hash of your pilot key (never the key itself) | So only your browser can update your leaderboard entry | Until you ask us to delete it |
| Pilot name | Shown on the leaderboard and to other players in races | Until you change it or ask us to delete it |
| Best run: score, distance, pre-orders, bosses beaten, time of the run | The shared leaderboard (the Flight board) | Until you ask us to delete it |
Passed along live, not stored
While the game is open, your browser keeps a live connection to our game server. It shares your pilot ID, pilot name, race status, and in-race position and score with other players who have the game open. Race chat messages and emoji reactions go to the players in the same race. The server relays these in real time and does not save them. They're gone when you close the page.
Chat and pilot names pass through an automatic profanity filter, which masks offensive words before anyone else sees them.
Technical data
Like any website, our hosting provider receives technical information with each request, such as your IP address, browser type and the page requested. We use it to deliver the game, keep it secure and prevent abuse, such as rate-limiting spam. We keep short-term server logs for troubleshooting. They are deleted automatically under our hosting provider's standard retention periods.
Visit statistics
We use a privacy-friendly analytics service (click.pageview.click) to count visits. It does not set cookies and does not build a profile of you. When a page loads, it receives the page address and the referring site, along with the IP address and browser details that come with any web request. It uses these only to produce aggregate statistics, such as visitor counts, popular pages, referring sites, browsers, device types and countries. Content blockers that block this script do not affect the game.
3. The claude.ai version
The game can also be played as an artifact on claude.ai. There, your sign-in, the shared leaderboard, live races and chat are provided by claude.ai and handled under Anthropic's Privacy Policy. Players appear by the name on their claude.ai account. That version does not use our servers or our analytics.
4. Who we share data with
We don't sell or rent personal data, and we don't share it for advertising. Data is processed only by the providers needed to run the game:
- Cloudflare hosts the game, the leaderboard and the live race server.
- Google Fonts serves the game's fonts, so your browser contacts Google to download them.
- click.pageview.click provides the visit statistics described above.
Your pilot name, scores, race positions and chat messages are visible to other players by design. Please don't put personal information in your pilot name or in chat.
We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of players.
5. Your choices and rights
- Change your pilot name at any time in the game.
- Delete your data: email support@teslaflyingcar.games with your pilot name. If you can, include your pilot ID from your browser's local storage (key
fsf-uid). We'll remove your name and leaderboard entry. - Clear local data by clearing this site's data in your browser settings.
- Opt out of analytics with any common content or tracker blocker.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or move your personal data, and to object to some processing. Email us to use any of these rights. You can also contact your local data protection authority.
6. Children
The game is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal data from them. Live chat with other players is part of the game. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal data, email us and we'll delete it.
7. Security
Connections to the game are encrypted (HTTPS). Pilot keys are stored only as one-way hashes. No online service is perfectly secure, but we keep what we store to the minimum the game needs.
8. Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the effective date at the top. For significant changes, we'll also post a notice in the game.
